Our Mission
To spread the Gospel message of Jesus Christ using various forms of mass-media (i.e. Music, Radio, Art, Print, etc.).
About Us
Come Alive! had its official beginnings when the ministry was incorporated in 1972. Rev. Harry L. Thomas, the founder, felt the Lord calling him to begin using music as a ministry tool. Traveling from church to church, Harry sang of God's love and told of the grace available through Jesus Christ's sacrifice. He also spearheaded a radio broadcast aimed specifically at young people. This is how Come Alive! Ministries began.
Since that time, the ministry has grown, changed, matured. At one point, our ministry encompassed the Come Alive! Radio Show and a small record label (Eastern Edge Records) which managed a small roster of musicians. One of our most obvious activities, which constitutes a large part of our focus now, is the concert ministry. It has brought artists like Amy Grant, DC Talk , Audio Adrenaline, Steven Curtis Chapman, Phil Keaggy and Michael W. Smith to the stages in the Northeast area.
In 1978, the Lord expanded Harry's vision and the Creation Festival was born. Sponsored by Come Alive! Ministries, Inc., Creation '79 became our first festival. Considering the positive impact on the 5,000 lives represented, it established itself as an effective ministry tool. So effective was the Creation Festival that 1981 through 1983 found the staff of Come Alive! and Creative Ministries heading south to run the Jesus Festival in Orlando, reaching out to the southeast corner of our country.
Since its inception, Creation has seen hundreds of lives changed by the love of God as young people have submitted their lives to Jesus Christ. We've had representatives from every conceivable denomination ~ Methodist, Lutheran, Catholic, Presbyterian, Church of Christ, non-denominational, Assembly of God ~ all denominations attend the festival. This coming together regardless of denominational backgrounds, to celebrate a common love of our Creator, has been a realization of the vision given to Harry in 1978.
As time had progressed, the Lord called Harry to, once again, pastor a local church. May of 1983 saw the start of the Come Alive New Testament Church in Medford, New Jersey. Now, each Sunday brings an average of 300 people together to praise the Lord and to study the Word of God.
Time has brought many changes, as the record label has been placed aside, the artists have moved on to other management, and the Florida festivals were relinquished. The Come Alive! Radio Show was stopped; years later, the Alive Together show began broadcasting. This too has also been placed aside as God continues to mold this, His ministry, into a most valuable tool for His purposes. Hence, the concert ministry has continued to grow, focusing on the need to reach our area of the country (and now the Northwest as well) with the love of God.
We seek to live up to the call of God by reaching our area for Jesus, using the vehicle of music as an evangelistic tool. We also endeavor to encourage those individuals who have already made commitments to the Lord, to continue to serve Him with all their hearts ~ no matter what challenges face them.
Come Alive! Ministries is not a business enterprise, but a ministry, directly linked to a local church, and prayerfully considering future plans which will exalt Jesus Christ.
